" I have had lessons with Laure for a year. One year ago I was at A1/A2 level, despite lessons and an A at GCSE level. My initial aim was to obtain the B2 DELF in order to work with French speakers, here in Switzerland. From the start Laure was able to recognise the errors I commonly made and would write these down so that I could learn them, she would then test me in the following lesson. She positively encouraged me to speak, write, read and listen throughout this time. Laure would check my written work in between lessons and was always happy to help. " The French online course began with a test to identify my weaknesses in grammar and to set my objectives. Starting on the B2 level, I needed to work on correctly using prepositions, pronouns, adjectives, and subjonctif in daily communication. I also needed to improve my pronunciation.
During the first 20 minutes, while I spoke freely, Laure would provide me with unfamiliar words and expressions and carefully note everything. For the next 10 minutes, we repeated the vocabulary I studied as homework from the last session. The remaining 30 minutes were used to explain the grammar rules, do the grammar exercises, and read the dialogues from advanced communication.
After working with Laure for a year, I expanded my vocabulary across a range of topics and learned common expressions, which helped me gain confidence and fluency in my speech. I also read and write with more ease.
